Top 5 Travel and Local Apps Performance in Latin America Q1 2022

In the first quarter of 2022, the top five travel and local apps in Latin America demonstrated varied performance in terms of weekly downloads and active user trends. Below, we provide an overview of each app's performance based on data from Sensor Tower.

Airbnb experienced a notable fluctuation in weekly downloads. Starting at around 283K in late December 2021, the app saw a peak of approximately 289K in the first week of January, followed by a decline to 167K by late March. Active users also showed a downward trend, starting from 2.4M and ending at 1.7M over the same period.

Booking.com: Hotels & Travel maintained a relatively stable download rate, beginning at 242K in late December and ending at 173K in late March. Active users exhibited a slight decline from 4.2M to 3.3M throughout the quarter.

123milhas: Voos e Hotéis saw a consistent increase in weekly downloads, starting at 105K in late December and peaking at 183K by the end of March. Active users also showed growth, beginning at 411K and reaching 604K by the end of the quarter.

Google Earth had stable weekly downloads, fluctuating between 124K and 152K throughout the quarter. The app's active user base remained steady as well, starting at 878K and ending at 946K.

Despegar: vuelos y hoteles showed a consistent pattern in weekly downloads, beginning at 101K and reaching 112K by the end of March. Active users remained relatively stable, starting at 1.1M and ending at 1.1M.
